Privacy policy

This policy explains how personal information is handled in connection with corvusdigital.online. It is written under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. It is specific to this site, which is built to collect as little as possible.

1. Who is responsible

The organisation responsible for this site and for the personal information described here is:

Grrpupu s.r.o. is the entity that decides how and why any personal information connected with this site is handled.

2. What we collect

The honest answer is: almost nothing, and nothing at all through the pages themselves. Specifically:

• Nothing is collected through the site. There is no account, no contact form, no newsletter, no quiz and no input field of any kind. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking.
• Ordinary server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs when a page is requested. These typically record your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string, the URL requested, and the date and time. This is normal web-server operation and is used for security and diagnostics.
• Email you send us. If you write to info@corvusdigital.online, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.

We do not ask for, and the site does not gather, names, payment details, location beyond the IP address in a server log, or any special category of information.

3. Why we hold it, and on what basis

• Server logs are kept to keep the site secure, to diagnose technical problems, and to detect and prevent misuse. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating the site securely.
• Email correspondence is kept to read and respond to what you have sent, and to keep a record of the matter if it needs follow-up. We rely on our legitimate interest in dealing with enquiries, and on taking steps you have asked for.

4. How long we keep it

• Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a short operational period, ordinarily up to 12 months, after which they are deleted or overwritten in the normal course.
• Email correspondence is kept for up to 24 months from your last contact about a matter, unless a longer period is needed to deal with an ongoing issue or to meet a legal obligation, after which it is deleted.

5. Who we share it with, and overseas disclosure

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. The only third party involved in the ordinary running of the site is our hosting provider, which processes server logs on our behalf in order to serve the pages to you. Because we operate from the Czech Republic and may use hosting located outside Australia, we may hold or process this information overseas.

Under Australian Privacy Principle 8 (cross-border disclosure), we tell you plainly that server-log information and any email you send may be stored on, or accessed from, servers located outside Australia, including in the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any overseas recipient handles personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

6. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and the site is encrypted. Access to server logs and to any email correspondence is limited to the publisher and is protected by the ordinary security measures of our hosting and email providers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the very limited information involved.

7. Your rights under the Australian Privacy Principles

You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and you may ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. Because we hold so little, in most cases this will relate only to email you have sent us. To make a request, email info@corvusdigital.online.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information or your request, you can contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If it remains unresolved, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

8. Notifiable data breaches

If a data breach involving personal information we hold is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it and, where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as soon as practicable.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children, and it is not intended for people under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and because the site collects nothing through its pages, there is nothing for a child to submit.

10. If you are in the EU or UK

Because Grrpupu s.r.o. is established in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation applies to our handling of your personal information, and equivalent UK rules apply if you are in the United Kingdom. The legal basis we rely on is our legitimate interests: keeping the site secure and its logs available for diagnostics, and responding to email you send us. There is no consent basis in play because the site sets no cookies and runs no tracking, so there is nothing to consent to.

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing. To exercise any of these, email info@corvusdigital.online. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the Czech Republic, the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů); in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner’s Office.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and publish the revised version here. If we ever introduce anything that collects personal information — which would be a significant change from how the site works today — we will update this policy and put any required consent mechanism in place before that change goes live.

This policy relates to this website only. It does not cover any vendor’s website you reach through a link from here; each vendor has its own privacy practices.
